General
Can you program for Windows servers?
No.
We will not do any custom programming, debugging, or troubleshooting for Windows IIS servers. Our custom programming services are only available for Linux servers.
Do you design “adult” sites?
No. We, as a company, do not do designs for sites which contain explicit adult content. However, some of our designers may choose to work on adult projects on their own time.
Do you require a link back to you on your templates?
Yes.
As stated in our Terms and Conditions, an attribution link, or credit by-line, is required. If you do not wish to display the credit link, we will charge you a non-attribution fee. See our Terms and Conditions for more information.
How do you quote prices for custom projects?
We always quote websites based on the (estimated) amount of work required to complete the project. If your site implements a database that that needs to be accessed by 200 people, each with different permission levels, of course the site will cost more than a standard personal package. Our prices are very reasonable and well below the market average.
How long will a custom illustration take?
All custom illustrations can take approximately 2 weeks. If we have a backlog of illustrations in our queue, the wait time will increase. All Illustration orders are completed on a first-come/first-serve basis.
How long will my design take?
The design process depends on a number of factors. Standard templates, using stock images, can take anywhere between 2-4 weeks from start to finish. If multiple changes are requested (within the limits of our TOS), the process can be delayed.
If your design requires a custom illustration, expect to add an extra 2-3 weeks to the wait time.
If your design requires extra custom programming, the length of the project will be determined by the amount of extra programming required, as well as its complexity.
All orders are processed on a first-come/first served basis. This means, if our designers currently have orders in their queue, your order will be pushed to the end of the queue, and additional wait time may be expected.
I made a change to my template, and now it’s broken! HELP!
When we complete your project, we turn it over to you in working order. As stated in our Terms and Conditions, if you make a change to your template that impairs its functionality, it is not our responsibility to fix it.
If you do not have a backup of your template, we can repair it for you, but we do charge $125/hr. (minimum 1 hour) to fix a broken template that was designed by us.
Templates that were not designed by us will be charged at the standard Graphic Design rate of $100/hr.
May I call you?
We generally do not take telephone calls. We prefer to handle all conversations via email. It is easier to track and document when we leave a “paper trail”.
What are your normal procedures for new website orders?
Our normal design procedure is as follows:
- Contact us with the specifications of your project.
- Based on the complexity of your project, we will give you a price estimate, and projected timeframe for completion.
- Once you agree to the initial price, you will be invoiced via PayPal.
- Once we receive payment, we will begin creating a non-functional mockup design.
- When the mockup is approved, we will begin the actual coding and programming to bring your mockup to life.
- At this point, you will have opportunities for revisions (as stated in our Terms & Conditions).
- Once programming is complete, before turning over the completed project, you will be invoiced for any extra items requested, not included in our original price estimate.
Will you keep a backup of my template?
No. It is your responsibility to keep backups of all your templates, as per our Terms and Conditions.
If your web host uses cPanel, you can read more about backing up your files in the cPanel User Manual. We recommend making a habit of backing up your files (and databases) regularly!
Blog-Related
Can you make my blog match my existing website?
Yes, we can! Implementing an existing design (and further customization) will be subject to our normal graphics and/or programming hourly rates.
I’m having problems with my blog, can you help me?
No. We do not provide support for your blog platform. We only provide support for server related issues for our hosting clients. If you need help with your blog setup or errors, please visit the support sites for your particular blog platform:
Which blog platforms do you design for?
We design standard templates for the following platforms:
However, we only provide non-standard (programming) customizations for Expression Engine and WordPress.
Billing
Do you require a down payment for design work?
All Blog projects and custom web projects require payment in full before the start of the project.
How can I update my billing info?
If you need to update your contact/billing information, please contact Sales.
How do I make a PayPal payment?
Once we finalize your order, you will receive a PayPal invoice via email.
Just click on the link provided in the email, and you will be able to log into your PayPal to make a payment.
If you don’t have a PayPal account, not to worry! PayPal offers payment via credit card even if you don’t have an account.
I need my payment invoices how do I get them?
Since we invoice via PayPal, if you had already deleted the invoice email, the only way to retrieve your payment info is to log into your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal account, we highly recommend signing up for one - it’s free!
Which types of payment do you accept?
Our preferred method of payment is PayPal, but we will accept personal checks, company checks, cashier’s check or money order. If you are not paying with a personal check, your project will not begin until after your check has cleared.
If you are not paying via PayPal, please make other payment arrangements with Sales BEFORE we invoice you.
